Owned and operated by Jim and Dana Divis, Lone Point Winery is their new passion. Jim and Dana have dedicated their lives to two primary loves – raising their four children and growing their orchard operation from 12 acres in 1984 to over 200 acres today. Their orchard operation is arguably one of the best in the state where they raise a variety of apples, sweet cherries and pears.
They are now turning this passion of raising great fruit to producing premium grapes, as well as, focusing on the details of making exceptional wine. Realizing that learning the nuances of making great wine could not be learned overnight, the Divis are working with winemaker Joe Hudon.
Joe Hudon is a consulting winemaker who has been working in the fields of viticulture and winemaking since 2001. Joe has a bachelor’s degree in horticulture from Washington State University and a master’s of oenology degree from the University of Adelaide in South Australia. Joe has made wine in New Zealand, Australia, Italy, California, Washington, and Oregon working for medium and large scale, state-of-the art wineries. Joe is a student of the winemaking process with an aim to continually improve upon wine quality and make the best wine possible.
